The unexpected use of traditional wood paneling, modern glass roof and Victorian tiles splattered across the room with conviction, created a fresh take on the old-meets-new vibe that really works.
The property had not been touched for over many years, so practically everything needed replacing, renewing or repairing, including all floorboards, all internal walls and most of the joists. When we met our clients, they were ready to unlock the house’s true potential as a family home.
We remodeled the lower ground floor to create a large space with a kitchen island at the centre. We linked the house to the garden with large bi-fold doors leading to stone clad terraced steps to the lawn and naturalistic garden beyond.
The result is a stunning home for both entertaining and family life, realising the full potential of this magnificent house.
