A two-storey five-bedroom Victorian terraced house located south of Clapham Common had a small rear conservatory replaced with a generous full-width ground floor kitchen living extension with overhanging rear annexe wing.
The project brief was to reconfigure the layout to create more fluid and practical kitchen-living-dining spaces and incorporating existing low head-height area under the rear annexe wing.
The most challenging but the most successful is the suspended 2-story annexe wing. The complex series of cracked steel beams were installed to support the structures above and to create vast column-free area.
We remodeled the ground floor and extended the rear area to create a large space with a dining table and kitchen island at the centre. We linked this space to the garden with large bi-fold doors leading seamlessly and step-free to the lawn and garden beyond.
