An extensive high-end refurbishment designed by celebrated creative designer and architect Annabel Kassar. The project brings together unique contemporary design, fine craftsmanship and bold materials.
The original spaces did not work well together and the brief was to completely reorganise them including the transformation of a vast basement, which according to The Telegraph, might have the most beautiful private swimming pool in Europe.
The house is a contemporary take on a Victorian home with layers of ornamentation. The master bedroom is a vast open plan space with a wooden bath straight out of a Japanese ryokan. The womb-like bar with walls in velvet evokes a sense of a David Lynch set.
The result of this collaborative process is a signature home where the rooms have been opened up, volumes connected and sight-lines elongated. The house is big on patterns and graphics and is the proud result of the efforts of a large team of craftspeople.
Building Designs are currently collaborating with AKK on several projects.
