Islington
A new-build house behind the locally-listed facade of a formal Barnsbury Gallery. Another professional collaboration with the international architecture and design studio UH Architects.
Intended as a London base for a private client who normally resides overseas but is a frequent visitor to the UK, this compact two-bedroom house provides bespoke London family accommodation. The brief was conceived as a comfortable pied-a-terre that embodies the owner’s fondness for clean lines and a minimalist feel.
To bring allow as much light as possible the house has been cut in to two halves by a roof light that climbs up the wall all the way through the whole roof. To achieve this, the house – behind it’s traditionalist brick façade – has a complex load bearing steel frame.
Custom built-in furniture pieces such as a Bofi kitchen with matching office were specifically designed and manufactured for the project, and are complemented with classic modernist pieces by notable designers.
Another successful collaboration
